Residents of a residential area in Makhachkala have secured the attention of officials to the problem of house seizures.

Following a rally held by residents of the DOSAAF microdistrict, they met with representatives of the Dagestani authorities and the mayor of Makhachkala, who promised that the residents would not be deprived of their homes.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on May 11, residents of the DOSAAF microdistrict in Makhachkala held a rally to appeal to the republican and federal authorities regarding the seizure of their homes and land. According to them, the property of more than 500 families was seized due to a legal dispute between a Moscow company and a local businessman who purchased a plot of land from it.

On May 11, Israfil Israfilov, head of the Dagestan Regional Management Center, commented on an appeal from residents of the DOSAAF microdistrict in his Telegram channel. Residents were "concerned about the situation surrounding the judicial seizure of land plots and restrictions on real estate registration."

According to Israfilov, information about the situation was "promptly conveyed to the responsible authorities," after which a meeting was held between the residents' initiative group and the acting deputy chairman of the Dagestan government - minister for land and property relations, Zaur Eminov, and the acting deputy head of the administration of the head and government (AGIP) of Dagestan, Rashid Akavov.

It has been established that the situation is connected to a long-running legal dispute over a land parcel covering over 24.6 hectares in the village of Krasnoarmeysk. The territory was divided into hundreds of plots, "where hundreds of families from the DOSAAF microdistrict now live."

Israfilov noted that the dispute has now entered the court decision enforcement stage, as a result of which the entire land parcel has been seized. The restrictions affect approximately 500 households. At the meeting, Zaur Eminov stated that "hundreds of families should not suffer because of a financial dispute. People have built homes and should not become hostages to other people's commercial interests."

Makhachkala Mayor Dzhambulat Salavov also met with the initiative group and promised that the city administration will provide support to protect the rights of residents. "Under no circumstances will Makhachkala residents be deprived of their homes," Salavov stated.

Following the meeting, it was decided to hold an additional meeting with the parties to the legal dispute "to develop further measures to resolve the situation."
