Pro-European protests in Tbilisi have continued for 523 days in a row.

Participants in a rally outside the Georgian Parliament on the 523rd day of continuous protests demanded the release of political prisoners and the purchase of medicine for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, on May 3, on the 522nd day of continuous protests, parents of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and activists march along Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, demanding that the sick children be provided with modern medicine. Participants in the daily meetings outside the Parliament support the demands of the parents, who have been spending the night outside the government chancellery since April 20 sleeping.

Protesters in support of Georgia's European integration gathered this evening on Rustaveli Avenue near the parliament building for the 523rd consecutive day. Participants brought with them, as usual, numerous national flags, as well as EU and US flags.

Activists reiterated their demand for support for political prisoners and once again supported parents' demand for medication for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Activists carried posters reading: "Freedom for Mata Devidze," "Medicine for the children, collapse for the regime," and "We'll die, but we won't leave until we get the medication," according to posts by photographer Mo Se and Georgian media outlets on Facebook*.

The parents' protest outside the government administration building continues. Police once again prevented participants from bringing a pouf into the chancery building, even though it is not on the list of items prohibited at mass demonstrations.

Activists summoned a representative of the Public Defender of Georgia to document the violation of protesters' rights, Publika reports.

Mate Devidze is a 21-year-old musician who was detained in November 2024 on Melikishvili Avenue. He was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months for participating in the protests. According to the investigation and the court, Devidze inflicted bodily harm on three police officers with a wooden stick. On the anniversary of his detention, November 19, 2025, protesters held a march; at least 15 activists were detained for walking onto the roadway.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces violently dispersed the protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. Thousands of people were subjected to administrative prosecution during the protests.
