The prosecution asked for Anna Minkova to be sentenced to five years in prison.

At the trial of former Krasnodar Krai Vice Governor Anna Minkova, the prosecutor requested a five-year prison sentence, while the defense requested a suspended sentence.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in January, security forces detained former Kuban Deputy Governor Anna Minkova. She is accused of large-scale fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code; carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years). On April 17, it was announced that the charges were supplemented by an article on the legalization of property obtained through a crime. In court, Minkova pleaded guilty.

The state prosecutor has requested a five-year prison sentence for former Krasnodar Krai Vice Governor Anna Minkova, to be served in a general regime penal colony, TASS reported on May 1.

Furthermore, the prosecutor has requested a 700,000 ruble fine for Minkova, as well as the confiscation and forfeiture of the apartment, which was acquired through the commission of a crime, to the state.

Baizet Nekhai, a representative of the developer who was questioned in Minkova's case, dropped his property claims against her after she compensated for damages for the apartment she illegally owned.

Minkova herself, according to her lawyer, is hoping for a non-custodial sentence. The defense attorney requested that the possibility of applying Article 73 of the Russian Criminal Code (suspended sentence) be considered. The second defense attorney added that if the court decides to sentence her to imprisonment, they are requesting a deferment until her children reach 14 years of age. Minkova has four children, two of whom are minors.

As a reminder, in February, the Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit to confiscate Minkova's property for the benefit of the state. On April 8, a court in Krasnodar upheld the lawsuit, ordering the seizure of Minkova's property and that of her relatives. The market value of assets transferred to the state exceeds 338 million rubles.
