Protesters in Tbilisi demanded that children be provided with medicine and food.

On the 520th day of continuous protests, activists of the Golos movement in Tbilisi demanded free meals for students in public schools, and participants in a meeting near the parliament called for the purchase of medicine for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, on April 30, the 519th day of protests, participants in a rally on Rustaveli Avenue demanded the release of political prisoners and once again spoke out in support of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.  Parents of sick children have been spending the night near the government chancery since April 20.

Supporters of Georgia's European integration, carrying national, EU, and US flags, gathered this evening on Rustaveli Avenue near the parliament building for the 520th consecutive day.

Judging by photos from Rustaveli Avenue, more than 50 people gathered near the parliament building. Participants held signs reading: "A well-fed government for a hungry people," "How much does meat cost?", "Give the children medicine," "Go away," "No," and "Until the end," according to posts by photographer Mo Se and Georgian media on Facebook*.

The traditional rally near the parliament building was preceded by a protest demanding free school meals, organized by the "Voice" movement in Mziuri Park. Participants demanded that public school students be provided with lunches, Publika reports.

At this rally, protesters held signs reading: "A child is hungry – the state must provide," "Free food for schools," and "School is for education, not for starvation."

Parents of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are planning to spend their twelfth night in front of the government administration building. They are continuing their protest despite the rainy weather and intend to continue until their demands are met, Tbilisi_life reports.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces have violently dispersed the protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. Thousands of people have been subjected to administrative prosecution during the protests.
