A Krasnodar resident was convicted of treason.

The Krasnodar Regional Court found a Krasnodar resident guilty of treason and sentenced her to 13 years in prison.

As reported by Kavkazsky Uzel, in mid-March, the Kuban Deputy Prosecutor approved the indictment in the case of a 38-year-old resident of the Timashevsky District, charged under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (treason). According to investigators, between February 24 and March 20, 2022, the woman repeatedly transferred a total of 100,000 rubles from her bank account to a bank account used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the purpose of funding them.

According to the court, in February 2022, the defendant made several money transfers to the account of an individual conducting fundraising activities in Ukraine. Investigators believe the transfers were intended to finance activities directed against the interests of the Russian Federation. The total amount of the transfers amounted to 100,000 rubles, the press service of the Krasnodar Krai courts reported today on Telegram.

The court found the woman guilty of treason and sentenced her to 13 years in a general regime penal colony. An additional fine of 200,000 rubles was imposed, as well as a restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year and 6 months.

Furthermore, the court ordered the confiscation of 100,000 rubles transferred to the convicted woman for state benefit. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced a 63-year-old resident of Novorossiysk to 13 years in prison for high treason. According to the investigation and the court, the ship's cook, wanting to move to the United States, informed her supervisors about the location of ships.
