The Dagestani village of Saniorta has been declared a state of emergency.

A state of emergency has been declared in the village of Saniorta in the Tlyaratinsky District due to the threat of further landslides. Officials have not ruled out the possibility of relocating residents from the village.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on April 28, the head of the Khunzakh District declared a state of emergency throughout the municipality. The decision was made due to the intensification of landslide processes; the threat of landslides is observed in the villages of Butsra, Tselmes, and Kharikolo.

Murad Ramazanov, head of the Tlyaratinsky District, declared a municipal state of emergency in the village of Saniorta, the district administration reported on its Telegram channel on the evening of April 28.

"Landslides continue to intensify in the village, posing a threat to residents and infrastructure. Ramazanov noted the need to declare a regional state of emergency in the area to ensure additional support measures and deploy expanded forces and resources to stabilize the situation," the publication stated.

Authorities are not ruling out the possibility of resettling residents

The village, which has 63 households, was visited on April 28 by the Prime Minister of Dagestan, the Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, and the head of the Civil Defense Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"According to preliminary estimates, the village may face resettlement. Residents were explained the next steps. Magomed Ramazanov noted that a final decision will be made as soon as possible," authorities reported on April 28. municipality.

Authorities reported the threat of landslides in the village of Saniorta on April 18, when they met with residents.

New cracks and landslide displacements have formed

"During the meeting, issues related to the worsening landslide situation in the village were discussed. Due to heavy rain and snowfall, new cracks and landslide displacements have formed in the village. There are cases of damage to private homes," the publication noted.

Floods caused by torrential rains occurred in the North Caucasus in late March and early April and were among the most devastating in recent years. Six people died as a result of the flooding in Dagestan.
