As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," this morning authorities reported that a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Tuapse "due to falling drone debris." In connection with the fire at the oil refinery in Tuapse, residents of nearby houses have been evacuated to a temporary accommodation center.

Aleksey Klushin, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Krasnodar Krai, reported the incident during the firefighting at the Tuapse oil refinery. He assured that the agency's employees are "controlling the situation."

"Oil products boiled and leaked from tank No. 3, spilling onto the road and damaging several vehicles," Interfax-Yug quotes Klushin as saying.

"Explosions are periodically heard near the burning oil refinery," noted environmentalist Georgy Kavanosyan, who posted footage of the fire on his Telegram channel.

According to recent NASA satellite images, the fire has engulfed at least four large fuel tanks, notes one publication 1 .

Today's attack on Tuapse is the third in the last two weeks. On the night of April 16, a 14-year-old girl and an adult girl were killed and seven others were injured in a drone attack in Tuapse. Sixty residential buildings and three public facilities were damaged, and five private homes were completely destroyed. A fire also broke out at the seaport, which was extinguished on April 19. Tuapse residents reported that after the attack, "the entire sky was covered in smoke," and the smell of burning was felt throughout the city throughout the day. On the night of April 20, a drone attack at the oil terminal in the port of Tuapse caused a fire that was extinguished only on April 24.

During the fire, "oil rain" occurred in the city at least twice. The fire at the marine terminal is dangerous due to the release of combustion products, which are carcinogenic and toxic. The "oil rain" reduced the level of harmful substances in the air, but led to soil pollution, environmentalists emphasized.
