Security forces in Tuapse held a journalist from an environmental publication for five hours.

Police in Tuapse "conversed" with Kedr.media* correspondent Anastasia Troyanova for five hours. Prior to this, the journalist was attacked by a man who "didn't like her taking photographs."

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," this morning authorities reported that a fire broke out at an oil refinery in Tuapse "due to falling drone debris." In connection with the fire at the Tuapse oil refinery, residents of nearby houses have been evacuated to a temporary accommodation center.

Kedr.media* correspondent Anastasia Troyanova, who was on a business trip in Tuapse, reported to colleagues this morning that she was being held by an unknown person in civilian clothes. She has since gone silent. The editorial staff has filed a police report regarding the journalist's kidnapping, according to a publication on the publication's website.

Kedr.media* positions itself as an independent publication about the environment and ecology. In Tuapse, Anastasia Troyanova was preparing a report on the environmental consequences of the drone attack in Tuapse. Three hours after the journalist's arrest, officers from the Tuapse District Department of Internal Affairs confirmed to the editorial board that Anastasia was in their custody and was being "conversed with." Troyanova was only able to leave the department five hours after her arrest. According to the journalist, a local resident grabbed her arm as she walked outside, "who didn't like her taking photos," and passing police officers took her to the station.

“They spoke politely, but were interested in my work. As far as I understand, they're currently searching all over Tuapse for the people posting footage of the fire on social media,” ASTRA* reports Troyanova as saying.

Before her arrest, Anastasia Troyanova managed to take and post a photo of smoke rising over the port after the latest attack. “It was a terrible night. Huge black plumes of smoke are now rising over the city. It smells like burning. Meanwhile, people are mostly walking around without respirators or wearing simple medical masks,” she wrote this morning.

In the previous days, Troyanova wrote about the cleanup of oil spills along the Tuapse coastline, which occurred on April 24 after booms broke due to rising water levels in the Tuapse River. Authorities declared the spills “local,” but the oil spills spread to nearby villages. Fuel oil has spread over a large area, and it is being cleaned up mainly by volunteers, local residents told the "Caucasian Knot" on April 26.
