Transport links with four villages in Dagestan have been disrupted.

Roads to four villages in the Charodinsky District are blocked after a landslide and mudslide hit the roadway.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," dozens of road sections in Dagestan were closed after floods, landslides, and, in mountainous areas, after avalanches and snowstorms. By April 26, 16 villages in the Charodinsky District and two in the Tlyaratinsky District remained blocked. Transport links to the villages were restored that evening.

Residents of four villages in the Charodinsky district of Dagestan were left without transport links, Dagestanavtodor reported today on its website.

According to the publication, on the "Access road from the Tsurib - Archib road" to the village. Traffic is closed to Sodab due to a landslide on the upper slope.

"Transportation to three settlements (Sodab, Moshchob, and Chunib) has been interrupted. One piece of equipment, a bulldozer, is being deployed for clearing," the statement noted.

Dagestanavtodor published an appeal to residents and visitors of the republic on its Telegram channel today. "We kindly request you not to travel to mountainous areas unless absolutely necessary! Due to heavy rainfall and highly waterlogged soils, the risk of rock falls, mudslides, rock falls, and avalanches remains in high-altitude areas!" – the appeal states.

As a reminder, by April 27, residents of Dagestan had received more than 233,000 applications for payments related to flood damage, while residents of Chechnya had submitted more than 29,000 similar applications to the authorities.

Floods caused by torrential rains began in the North Caucasus in late March and have become some of the most devastating in recent years. Six residents of Dagestan, including three minors, died as a result of the flooding. Additionally, on April 13, a 19-year-old volunteer died in the hospital after suffering a severe traumatic brain injury while helping residents of the Derbent district.

Dagestan and Chechnya suffered the most from the disaster, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus - 2026."
