A Dagestani resident has been arrested in connection with an attack on doctors.

A resident of the Gumbetovsky District, suspected of attempting to murder two doctors at a hospital in Makhachkala, has been taken into custody. According to the Ministry of Health, the condition of the wounded has improved.

The Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala, at the request of the investigation, remanded in custody a 31-year-old resident of the Gumbetovsky District, suspected of attempting to murder doctors at the Republican Clinical Hospital, the United Press Service of the Courts of Dagestan reported today on its Telegram channel.

Wounded surgeon regains consciousness

The injured surgeon's condition has improved, the Dagestan Ministry of Health reported today on its Telegram channel. "He has regained consciousness, his general condition and parameters have improved. His further treatment is continuing in the intensive care unit," the department reported.

The second victim's condition is also showing positive dynamics. "He will be discharged from the hospital soon," the publication said.

The wounded surgeon managed to inform the medical staff of his blood type, his colleague Jamal Aldukhov told the TASS news agency.
