More than 2,600 homes damaged in Chechnya during flooding

In five districts of Chechnya, 2,648 houses were damaged during the flooding, and more than 12,000 applications for one-time financial assistance were received from local residents.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by April 6, Chechen authorities had recognized at least 127 families affected by the flooding as needing new housing.

More than 12,000 applications for one-time financial assistance have been submitted by victims of the Chechen floods, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced on his Telegram channel on April 10. He also stated that payments are "actively being made."

At the off-site coordination meeting announced by Kadyrov, the republic's Prime Minister, Magomed Daudov, spoke and reported "significant damage" in the Gudermes, Nozhai-Yurt, Shali, Kurchaloy, and Urus-Martan districts. A total of 2,648 homes were damaged, and construction has already begun on 145 homes for the most affected.

Referring to Alexander Molchanov, Head of the Territorial Policy Department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Kadyrov stated that Chechnya "has set a national record for providing proactive assistance – thousands of people have already received it without the need for additional requests."

At a recent meeting, Magomed Daudov stated that in the Nozhai-Yurt district of the republic alone, approximately 700 private homes were damaged as a result of adverse weather events, 397 of which were destroyed by landslides.
