"Freedom for Political Prisoners!": A Mass Picket in Support of Russian Political Prisoners Held in Yerevan Outside the Russian Embassy

Today, April 4, a mass picket in support of Russian political prisoners took place outside the Russian Embassy in Yerevan. Participants held signs demanding the release of political prisoners, RusNews reports.

Among those honored at the rally was Lyubov Lizunova, an anarchist and anti-fascist activist involved in the "Chita Case." Activists believe her criminal case is completely fabricated and constitutes political persecution.

Activists paid special attention to the case of former Khabarovsk Krai Governor Sergei Furgal, as well as the chief accountant of his former plant, Galina Aleinikova, and deputy chief accountant Svetlana Osipenko. They were arrested back in 2020 and sentenced to 20 and 10 years in prison, respectively, on embezzlement charges.

One of the posters read: "Russian justice: the elements of the crime are not important! The composition of the court is important!!!"

Activists demand an end to criminal political persecution and the release of all political prisoners.
