Mass events have been banned in North Ossetia.

The authorities of North Ossetia have banned public events in the republic due to the worsening operational situation.

"In order to strengthen the protection of public order and ensure public safety, due to the worsening operational situation in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, associated with possible sabotage using unmanned aerial vehicles, the organization and holding of public events in the republic are prohibited until further notice," states the decree signed by the head of the republic, Sergei Menyailo.

The decree has already entered into force; it has been in effect since March 26. The republic's Ministry of Education and Science has been instructed to inform the heads of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of the republic about the decree in order to prevent students from participating in organizing and holding public events in the republic.

The decree came amid the authorities' announced intentions to block Telegram.

"Caucasian Knot" reported that the organizers of a rally in defense of Telegram in Rostov-on-Don were subjected to pressure. Rostov activist Evgeny Makovoz was arrested for ten days on charges of petty hooliganism.

The Krasnodar administration reconsidered its decision to approve a rally in defense of freedom of speech on March 28, even on the outskirts of the city. Officials withdrew their approval for the action, citing security concerns due to the threat of drone and missile attacks.

Activist Varvara from Volzhsky applied to hold rallies against the blockade in Volgograd and Volzhsky, but after being denied a location and receiving warnings from the police, she withdrew from the protests.
