As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," a fire broke out at an oil depot in the suburb of Tikhoretsk on the night of March 15th "due to falling UAV debris." Authorities say there are no injuries. The fire was extinguished that evening.

A drone attack caused a fire at an oil depot in the industrial zone of Labinsk, the Kuban emergency response center reported on its Telegram channel at 4:57 a.m. Moscow time.

"According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Four crews, personnel from fire and rescue units, and specialists from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved in extinguishing the fire," the statement read.

As a reminder, a drone attack also caused a fire at an oil depot in the suburbs of Tikhoretsk on the night of March 12. The fire covered 3,800 square meters and was extinguished on the morning of March 13. Sanitary authorities advised local residents to stay indoors and close their windows. Rospotrebnadzor has detected exceedances of permissible concentrations of harmful substances in the air.

Any fire of this scale poses a threat to human health, ecologist Valery Brinikh previously noted. "The air can contain elevated concentrations of hazardous substances, making it difficult to breathe and potentially damaging the lungs. In this case, there are also all sorts of man-made problems, because diesel fuel and other substances are burning, and the entire periodic table could be involved," he told the "Caucasian Knot".

Residents of the villages of Afipsky and Ilsky in the Seversky District of Kuban, where oil refineries are located, also regularly suffer from drone attacks. For example, on December 14, 2025, authorities reported that during a drone attack, "UAV debris" damaged five private homes in the village of Afipsky. On December 1, a drone attack damaged 19 homes and a cell phone tower in the village of Ilsky.

Oil refineries themselves have also been repeatedly targeted by drones. Specifically, on February 17, a drone attack caused a fire at the Ilsky Oil Refinery.

On November 29, 2025, an aerial attack caused a fire at the refinery in the village of Afipsky, evacuating workers. The fire was extinguished the same day.
