The court acquitted Gagik Tsarukyan in the election bribery case.

The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has found Gagik Tsarukyan, the head of the Prosperous Armenia Party, not guilty of vote-buying during the 2017 parliamentary elections.

As reported by the Caucasian Knot, in 2020, Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of Prosperous Armenia, was accused of vote-buying. In September 2020, the court rejected the petition of the National Security Service of Armenia to arrest Tsarukyan. The hearing took place against the backdrop of a protest by supporters of the Prosperous Armenia leader.

At a hearing today, Armenia's Anti-Corruption Court found Gagik Tsarukyan, head of the Prosperous Armenia Party, not guilty of bribery, Novosti-Armenia reported.

Gagik Tsarukyan was accused of organizing and managing a group for the purpose of bribery in favor of his party and the Tsarukyan bloc during the 2017 parliamentary elections. In June 2020, the Armenian parliament granted the Prosecutor General's Office's petition to strip Tsarukyan of parliamentary immunity and deprive him of his liberty.

Tsarukyan has repeatedly stated that he considers the criminal cases brought against him and his associates to be fabricated and clearly politically motivated. According to the politician, the reason is his criticism of the current Armenian government, which "is following a path of terror against opponents."

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of January 2025, Nver Tsarukyan, the son of Armenian politician Gagik Tsarukyan, was arrested in absentia on charges of hooliganism and robbery. He was placed on the international wanted list.
