A Dagestani soldier was killed in Ukraine.

Timur Vazhinsky from Kizlyar was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named at least 1,837 combatants from Dagestan killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by March 3, authorities officially acknowledged at least 1,836 fighters from Dagestan killed in Ukraine.

The Kizlyar administration reported on the unveiling of a memorial plaque at School No. 5 to Timur Vazhinsky, killed in the military operation, on its Telegram channel.

Timur Vazhinsky was killed on February 5, 2025. He was awarded the Order of Courage posthumously. The administration did not provide any further details about the soldier's biography or death in its statement.

Thus, at least 1,837 combatants from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the combat zone in Ukraine. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "NVO Statistics: Losses Are Mounting for Southern Russia."
