Protesters on Rustaveli Street congratulated the mothers of political prisoners.

On the 461st day of continuous protests, activists on Rustaveli Avenue congratulated the mothers of political prisoners on Mother's Day, which is celebrated in Georgia today.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, on March 2, the 460th day of daily protests, demonstrators in Tbilisi held a rally against fabricated drug cases. That same day, nine Georgian parties announced the formation of an opposition alliance.

Participants in the daily protest, who gathered today with national and EU flags outside the Georgian parliament, dedicated a series of posters to the mothers of political prisoners. Today, March 3, Georgia celebrates Mother's Day.

Activists held signs reading: "Freedom for the regime's prisoners," "Return the children to the mothers, return the mothers to the children," "Congratulations to the struggling mothers," "Victory is coming soon," "Return the children to the mothers," and "Freedom for Zviad Tsetskhladze," according to posts by photographer Mo Se and Georgian media on Facebook*.

Today marks the 461st day of continuous protests in Tbilisi, Publika reports.

Zviad Tsetskhladze, the leader of the Dafioni student movement, has been in prison since December 2024. In September, he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for participating in pro-European protests.

While in prison, Tsetskhladze began publishing the newspaper "Camera 101," dedicated to socio-political news in Georgia. On October 25, 2025, he announced a hunger strike in protest against his father's administrative arrest for "artificially blocking a road." In January, Zviad Davitadze's mother, Nargiz Davitadze, called for pardons for female political prisoners.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces violently dispersed the protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. Over 1,000 people were subjected to administrative prosecution during the protests.
