As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," Dzhabrailov was taken to the hospital last night with a gunshot wound to the head, where he died. Sources believe the businessman committed suicide.

Dzhabrailov had recently experienced business setbacks, noted another lawyer, Timur Marshani. "Umar Aliyevich has been depressed recently—his financial decline is related to the current situation," Marshani was quoted as saying by the Telegram channel Mash.

Dzhabrailov, over the years, headed four companies, and was also listed as a founder in three of them. He was also a founder in 13 other organizations. According to these data, 16 of them ceased operations between 2008 and 2026, RIA Novosti reported, citing its sources. Meanwhile, the tax service froze all of Dzhabrailov's accounts in five banks due to a debt of 40,000 rubles.

Umar Dzhabrailov had recently been in a crisis that he was unable to overcome, said lawyer Alexander Karabanov, who previously represented him in court. "From my recent interactions with him, I got the impression that he was in a crisis. I suspect he couldn't come to terms with the current reality, that he's no longer as influential and wealthy as he once was. He simply couldn't survive another crisis now, basically," the agency quotes him as saying.

"As far as I know, he didn't write any wills, because in Caucasian culture, all property matters are resolved quite clearly, based on verbal agreements. If he has any assets left to inherit, I think only close relatives will know about it," Karabanov said.

Details of Dzhabrailov's Death Released

Umar Dzhabrailov had recently been leading a secluded life and didn't attend social events, the Shot Telegram channel reported. According to the channel, he recently lived in the Vesper Tverskaya apartments on Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street. He rarely had visitors. His daughters live in Europe.

The man, who had a 9mm Luger pistol lying next to him, was hospitalized from his apartment in the Vesper Tverskaya residential complex as an unknown person in serious condition. Security guards who arrived at the scene helped identify him. According to TASS, citing law enforcement, no criminal elements were found in the incident.

"Dzhabrailov's security team called the police and an ambulance. Doctors attempted resuscitation, and Dzhabrailov was taken to the hospital, but doctors pronounced the businessman dead at the hospital," Interfax reported, citing law enforcement.

The businessman's body will be returned to Chechnya. "The funeral will take place in the family village of Novye Atagi," a source close to the family said.
