A court in Krasnodar has seized the property of former deputy chairman of the regional court Igor Nikolaychuk and persons associated with him, totaling over 13 billion rubles, and transferred it to the state.

Specifically, over 28 million rubles received for the expropriated property and $2.2 million in rubles were recovered. The court found that Nikolaychuk, while serving as a judge and then Deputy Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court from 2007 to 2018, participated in the illegal construction of an elite apartment building in Sochi. He also received two apartments with a total area of ​​over 300 square meters in the aforementioned residential complex from former court chairman Chernov. He also carried out commercial activities in the construction and rental of real estate, as well as in the manufacturing of PVC products. He concealed this illicit income from tax authorities. Nikolaychuk laundered part of this money by constructing a shopping and office center in Krasnodar. Its construction cost $2.2 million.

Another 15 individuals and one organization were named as defendants in Nikolaychuk's case.

As a reminder, last August, at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the court confiscated assets worth 13 billion rubles from the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov. On November 20, it became known that the High Qualification Collegium of Judges will consider the issue of stripping the former head of the Kuban regional court, Alexander Chernov, of his status as a retired judge. Already on November 27, the VKKS deprived Chernov of his status.
