A convicted Dagestani native escaped from his convoy in Moscow.

Dagestan native Shamil Aliyev escaped from security forces on February 26 before the start of a hearing at the Tagansky Court in Moscow, prompting the announcement of an "Intercept" operation in the capital.

At 5:00 PM Moscow time on February 26, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow received a request from the metro police department to remand the convicted Aliyev into custody.

Police proposed arresting Shamil Aliyev for consideration of a prison sentence for evading his sentence, the Moscow courts press service reported today on Telegram.

The Telegram channel "112" reported on the evening of February 26 that Aliyev had escaped from the courthouse. The report referred to him as a "defendant" and a suspect, but Moscow's Tagansky Court denied the allegations of the suspect's escape. The court's press service reported that the capital's police request to remand the convicted person into custody was returned without consideration "due to the failure of police officers to bring Aliyev to the court hearing."

The press service also published a short video of the incident. Judging by the CCTV footage, when the police officer went to the entrance of the building, Aliyev ran in the other direction. The police officer ran after the man.

According to "112," a criminal case had previously been opened against Aliyev for robbery in 2022. It was alleged that he and two other people stole a mobile phone from a passerby. The damage amounted to 32,000 rubles.
