Eleven flights at Sochi Airport were diverted to alternate airfields.

Sochi Airport suspended operations for the third time this day.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," a drone attack in Krasnodar damaged windows in a private home and a car.

Temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures have been introduced at Sochi Airport, Rosaviatsiya reported on its Telegram channel. "The restrictions are necessary to ensure flight safety," the statement dated September 16 reads.

Previously, restrictions were introduced at Sochi Airport on the morning and afternoon of February 23. During the period the restrictions were in effect, the crews of 11 flights diverted to alternate airfields, the airport press service reported. "Airlines are providing drinks and meals, and in the event of lengthy delays, they are ready to accommodate people in hotels," the statement read.

As of 4:45 p.m. Moscow time, 22 departures from Sochi and another 26 arrivals are delayed, according to the airport's online flight board.

It should be noted that an air defense system was activated in Sochi this morning, and the military is repelling a drone attack, Mayor Andrei Proshunin reported on his Telegram channel.

The mayor asked residents and visitors to remain calm and observe necessary safety measures. "If you live near the coastline, do not go outside under any circumstances; stay in a closed, unglazed building," Proshunin warned.

As a reminder, temporary restrictions at Sochi Airport were previously introduced on February 15.
