The FSB detained a Krasnodar resident on charges of espionage.

Security officials reported the arrest of a Krasnodar resident accused of treason "in the form of espionage." He is also accused of inciting terrorism and discrediting the Russian military.

The detainee is a 41-year-old Krasnodar resident and Russian citizen. Security officials called him a supporter of "radical Ukrainian ideology," without explaining what that means.

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee published a video of the man's arrest on its website. As the 16-second recording shows, security officials were waiting for him in a car on the street near a private residential area. When the man stepped outside, FSB officers in camouflage twisted his arms and forced him to the ground, shoving his face into a frozen puddle.

The detainee's face is obscured in the video. Immediately after the arrest, one of the security officers demands that the man state his full name, but the detainee's response is erased from the audio.

According to the FSB, the detained Krasnodar resident administered a Telegram chat that included representatives of Ukrainian intelligence agencies.

"There, he published previously collected personal data of Russian servicemen participating in a special military operation, thereby handing it over to the enemy," the security forces said in a statement.

The Kuban resident is also accused of collecting money for the purchase of "military equipment and gear for units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces" and calling for violence against Russian servicemen. “He justified the activities of Ukrainian nationalist battalions, called for assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and discredited the Russian Armed Forces,” the FSB added.

In total, the detainee has been charged under five criminal articles: treason, promoting terrorism, fabricating information about the army, public calls for extremism, and activities directed against state security. These articles 1 carry lengthy prison terms, including life imprisonment.

Caucasian Knot has not yet received any comments from the accused or his lawyer regarding the security forces' version of events.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Dagestan prosecutor's office approved the indictment in the criminal case against an Azerbaijani citizen accused of espionage for Ukraine.
