A court in Rostov-on-Don found a resident of the Zaporizhzhia region guilty of inciting terrorism.

The Southern District Military Court sentenced Denis Shevchenko, a resident of Tokmak, to seven years in a general regime penal colony for comments calling for terrorism and disseminating false information about the Russian military.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a 29-year-old resident of the Zaporizhzhia region, finding him guilty of calling for terrorist activity.

According to investigators, Denis Shevchenko, a resident of Tokmak and a Russian citizen, repeatedly posted comments on Telegram that were derogatory based on his nationality and origin. These publications demonstrated a negative attitude toward Russians and the Russian Federation. He also disseminated false information about the Russian armed forces.

The court found Shevchenko guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.2 and paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code (public calls to commit terrorist activity and public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism) and sentenced him to seven years' imprisonment in a general regime penal colony.

"Caucasian Knot" reported that on February 2, a court in Novoshakhtinsk sentenced local resident Vadim Davydenko to seven years in prison, finding calls for violence against Russian military personnel in his Telegram comments. Davydenko was also found guilty of illegally trafficking explosives for possessing 47 grams of gunpowder.
