The prosecutor's office has demanded the seizure of the assets of Krasnodar judge Igor Nikolaychuk.

The Krasnodar Prosecutor's Office filed an anti-corruption lawsuit against the state regarding the seizure of the property of Igor Nikolaychuk, the former deputy chairman of the regional court, who combined his main job with entrepreneurial activity.

As reported by Caucasian Knot, last August, at the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, confiscated assets worth 13 billion rubles from Alexander Chernov, the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court. On November 20, it was announced that the High Qualification Collegium of Judges would consider the question of stripping the former head of the Kuban Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, of his status as a retired judge. On November 27, the HQCJ stripped Chernov of his status.

Krasnodar Prosecutor Andrei Kiriyenko filed an anti-corruption lawsuit against Judge Igor Nikolaychuk. The lawsuit has been filed with the Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar, Kommersant reported today.

During an investigation, the prosecutor's office determined that Igor Nikolaychuk, former deputy chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, member of the High Qualification Collegium of Judges, and former dean of the law faculty at Kuban State University, violated the ban on entrepreneurial activity by combining it with judicial work, reports Utrenny Yug.

Specifically, Nikolaychuk, while working in the Krasnodar Regional Court from 2007 to 2018, financed the construction of the luxury residential building No. 90/7g on Kurortny Prospekt in Sochi. The project's head, Alexander Chernov, Chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, participated in the project.

Furthermore, the supervisory agency established that Nikolaychuk, together with his business partner, Evgeny Bondarenko, had been engaged in commercial activities in the PVC manufacturing, construction, and real estate rental sectors for many years. He did not declare his income. Nikolaychuk used part of the $2.2 million proceeds to build a shopping and office center on Novorossiyskaya Street in Krasnodar, which has yet to be commissioned.

Along with Nikolaychuk himself, the defendants in the lawsuit also include his son, businessmen affiliated with the family, Aluminum Alliance LLC, and a number of third parties.

The prosecutor's office is requesting that the share of Aluminum Alliance LLC in the unfinished business center, with a cadastral value of 722.6 million rubles, the land beneath the building, valued at 85.6 million rubles, and two apartments in the aforementioned residential complex, with a total value of 39.6 million rubles, be transferred to the state.
