The response to a complaint about the actions of a doctor at a women's health clinic has outraged Sochi residents.

Sochi residents who complained about the actions of a gynecologist and her unethical statements received a response from the Kuban Ministry of Health. Officials confirmed the violations, but noted that they could not punish the doctor in any way, as she voluntarily resigned from the antenatal clinic.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in early December, about 30 Sochi residents complained to the prosecutor's office about the gynecologist's ineffective medical care and her statements about patients. Amid the scandal, the management of a private clinic reported the dismissal of a doctor, but she continued to see patients at the city hospital's antenatal clinic.

On December 19, Sochi residents who complained about the work of a gynecologist at antenatal clinic No. 3 of hospital No. 9 in the Adler district received identical official responses from the Krasnodar Krai Ministry of Health to their appeals to the Investigative Committee of Russia and the prosecutor's office.

The responses (a copy is in the possession of "Caucasian Knot") confirmed the doctor's violation of medical ethics; however, as it turned out, she left the antenatal clinic of her own free will, therefore "it is not possible to hold her liable for disciplinary action." "The facts stated in your appeal have been confirmed. Based on the results of the inspection, the medical staff of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "TsOMiD" held an extraordinary meeting, at which it was emphasized the need for strict adherence to medical ethics and deontology when interacting with patients and their families. "It is not possible to hold the obstetrician-gynecologist named in your complaint accountable, as she resigned voluntarily on December 2, 2025," the response states.

The information in the response outraged Sochi residents. Elena B. is one of those who filed a complaint against the doctor. "The facts were confirmed, but there is no punishment. The doctor simply resigned voluntarily, which means she can find a job at another medical facility," she commented.

She believes the doctor should be "revoked of her medical license." "It is unacceptable for someone who insults women in labor to continue working with women," Elena concluded.

"Nothing has changed. Today she resigned, and tomorrow she can work with expectant mothers again." "Fear and humiliation will remain for new patients," noted Irina A.

"The prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Health have effectively turned a blind eye. How can we hope for women's safety if a doctor who insults patients is left unaccounted for?" Tatyana K. is perplexed.

The patients intend to contact the prosecutor's office and licensing authorities to continue pressuring the doctor and protect the rights of women in labor.

"Resignation is a legal procedure, and the employer is not obligated to discipline an employee after they resign." However, this does not mean that such actions cannot have other consequences: filing a complaint with licensing authorities, deprivation of the right to practice medicine, or criminal prosecution if there is evidence of a crime remain possible,” lawyer Roman Pavlov commented on the situation to a “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
