Alaudinov threatened Wasserman and his assistant for a parliamentary inquiry
State Duma Deputy Anatoly Wasserman called on Apti Alaudinov to "order him to stop the farce" surrounding his name, presumably referring to the conflicts involving Z-bloggers. The head of the Akhmat special forces responded by questioning Wasserman's right to question him, as he previously held Ukrainian citizenship, and threatened to prosecute his assistant.
As reported by the Caucasian Knot , some Z-bloggers are either covert enemies of Russia or unknowingly serve its interests by criticizing Akhmat, unit commander Apti Alaudinov stated on November 14. He promised to eliminate such Z-bloggers "legally through criminal prosecution" if they do not apologize. That same day, the Gelendzhik City Court fined Oksana Kobeleva, the author of the Telegram channel "Okhranota V vatnik," 30,000 rubles for publishing questions to Akhmat special forces commander Apti Alaudinov, although she later deleted the post and repented for the material. On November 13, Alaudinov announced a reconciliation between two other Z-bloggers, Ilya Remeslo and Vladimir Grubnik. The latter, a friend of Akhmat, had complained to the Chechens about Remeslo's criticism. The conflict between Remeslo and Grubnik arose over the attitude towards pro-Putin Ukrainian defectors in the Z-community.
A struggle for influence over the public agenda is underway between TV host Vladimir Solovyov and Akhmat special forces commander Apti Alaudinov. Conflicts between Z-bloggers, including over fundraising for the SVO, are a reflection of this struggle. Fundraising for the military amounts to billions, yet remains opaque and unaccountable, analysts have noted.
Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, head of the Akhmat group and deputy head of the Ministry of Defense's Main Military-Political Directorate (GVPU), recorded an address to State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman, according to a video published on the lieutenant general's Telegram channel.
The video address was a response to Wasserman's parliamentary inquiry, published on the channel of his assistant, Roman Nosikov, on December 17. In it, the parliamentarian expressed respect for Alaudinov, but noted that the Akhmat commander is surrounded by figures who consider the general "their instrument for resolving personal problems with the justice system."
The deputy contacted Alaudinov, offering to "order him to put an end to this farce." Wasserman's request does not mention any names. The request may be related to the recent conflict between military bloggers, war correspondents, and Akhmat fighters.
Alaudinov stated that online squabbles "are the least of his concerns." And in response to Wasserman's appeal, he asserted that while the deputy himself enjoys immunity, Nosikov does not. "I believe that after the New Year holidays, God willing, I'll give him what he deserves," Alaudinov declared, noting that Nosikov "discredits the Ministry of Defense."
At the same time, Alaudinov believed that by "farce" Wasserman was referring specifically to his activities, and he wanted to know which of his activities he considered a farce—his military service, his participation in the SVO, his writing of books, his "work to unite people living in our country," or the fact that the FSB and Investigative Committee had begun to imprison those engaged in destructive activities.
The general responded by stating that he considered the fact that he held Ukrainian citizenship until 2016, and then quickly gained a parliamentary seat, a farce. "For some reason, you come to our country and think you can engage in destructive activities here. No, we will not allow that," Alaudinov declared.
