A Krasnodar journalist has been placed on the wanted list.

The information about the author of the "Protocol" project, Alexander Savelyev*, a journalist from Krasnodar living abroad, appeared in the wanted list database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. He suggested that the search could be connected with prosecution under the article on foreign agency.

As "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on September 6, 2024, two Krasnodar residents living abroad - David Kankiya*, a member of the board of the "Voice" movement, and journalist Alexander Savelyev* - were included in the register of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice. They expressed disagreement with the Justice Ministry's decision and stated that it would not stop their activities.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has placed Alexander Savelyev*, a journalist from Krasnodar and publisher of the independent media project "Protokol," on the wanted list. The journalist suggested that this was a new case involving a foreign agency, Mediazona reported*.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' wanted list database, the article under which he is wanted is not specified.

A case has been opened against Alexander Savelyev* for collaborating with an "undesirable organization." The journalist claimed he was never a member of any foreign associations. The Savelyev* case is intended to intimidate Kuban media, the journalists' union stated in August 2019. The case was dismissed, but in 2021, the court ruled to reopen it. The journalist in this case was defended by Krasnodar lawyer Alexei Avanesyan, who died in November.
