The State Duma stripped Voronovsky, a deputy from Krasnodar Krai, of his mandate.

At a plenary session, the State Duma prematurely stripped United Russia deputy Anatoly Voronovsky of his powers, granting his request.

As reported by Caucasian Knot, at the end of November, Anatoly Voronovsky, who is under investigation for accepting a large-scale bribe, filed for early resignation as a State Duma deputy. Voronovsky made this decision after the State Duma approved the stripping of his parliamentary immunity on November 11, following a proposal from the prosecutor's office. Investigators allege that Voronovsky received bribes in the form of property and services from Safarbiy Napso, director of the Krasnodar Krai unitary enterprise "Dagomys Road Repair and Construction Department." The total value of the services Voronovsky received is estimated at more than 25 million rubles. This includes an apartment in Krasnodar registered to the mother of his assistant, renovations and furnishings at the home of the deputy's son in Sochi, construction of a dam and lake cleanup in the Ust-Labinsky District on land owned by the deputy's family, and the purchase of agricultural machinery for Voronovsky's relatives. A criminal case has been opened under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code (accepting a bribe on an especially large scale), Kommersant reports.

According to the resolution voted for by the deputies, his powers are considered terminated as of November 13, based on his written statement. 386 deputies voted in favor, one voted against, and one abstained, according to RBC.

During the plenary session, Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) deputy Nikolai Kharitonov spoke, stating that Voronovsky had suffered an accident on November 30 and was hospitalized with serious injuries. He is currently in the hospital that serves deputies, and if he is stripped of his mandate, he would have to leave the hospital practically tomorrow or pay a large amount of money for his care, he explained. Kharitonov proposed considering Voronovsky's resignation in a week or two, once he has recovered.

First Deputy Head of the Mandates Committee, Ernest Valeev, responded by stating that the State Duma was considering the deputy's personal resignation. Valeev emphasized that it was in no way connected to Voronovsky's criminal prosecution.

Anatoly Voronovsky was elected to the State Duma in 2021 from an electoral district in the Krasnodar Krai. He served on the Duma's Transport Committee. He oversaw the same area when he held the post of deputy governor, Kommersant reports.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of October, a Sochi court sentenced Safarbiy Napso, former director of the Dagomys Road Repair and Construction Department, to four years in prison, finding him guilty of embezzling the company's property. The convicted man is the cousin of former Russian State Duma deputy Yuri Napso.

At the end of May, the court upheld the decision of State Duma deputies who voted to strip Yuri Napso of his parliamentary powers early. His representative claimed that Napso was stripped of his mandate due to an incorrect count of absenteeism. On October 8, it was announced that the Sochi Central District Court upheld the prosecutor's office's claim and seized approximately 60 properties in favor of the state. According to the prosecutor's office, these properties belong to Yuri Napso or his relatives. This decision has been appealed to a higher court, Napso's lawyer reported.
