Volunteers are asking for help in cleaning up fuel oil in Kuban.

Only a few people remain at the Dolphins headquarters, who are trying to clean up kilometers of beaches from fuel oil, volunteers said, calling for help in eliminating the consequences of the fuel oil spill.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," authorities reported that more than 850 people were involved in eliminating the consequences of the fuel oil spill, but only a few Kuban-Spas employees can be seen on the coast, volunteers noted, inquiring about where the main forces are involved.

Almost a year after the environmental disaster on the Black Sea, the fight against the consequences of the fuel oil spill is not over - every day, the "Dolphins" volunteer headquarters from the village of Volna continues to clean the coastline almost single-handedly, according to a message on the headquarters' Telegram channel.

"Currently, only 5-7 people are working on site against kilometers of polluted beaches. Regular raids show that the fuel oil has not disappeared. The emissions have decreased, but it's still there," the volunteers said, noting that the "Dolphins" lack people on site - those willing to come and physically help clean the beaches of fuel oil and restore the Black Sea The sea shores are clean.

There are no comments under this message on the headquarters' Telegram channel, which has 753 subscribers, as of 8:30 PM Moscow time. A similar message in the "Spill in Touch" Telegram group, which has over 43,000 members, also remains unanswered.

Only two volunteer headquarters remain on the entire coast of the Temryuk District, attempting to clean up the massive fuel oil deposits. However, without government support and an influx of new volunteers, the task is becoming insurmountable, the "Dolphins" headquarters reported.

As a reminder, on December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. A crew member of one of the tankers died as a result. In addition, an oil spill occurred, which led to catastrophic environmental consequences, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Fuel Oil Spill in the Kerch Strait".
