The Court of Cassation upheld the sentence of the former chief accountant of the aviation school in Krasnodar.

The defense of Alexei Imas, former chief accountant of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School, who was sentenced to five years for embezzlement, failed to secure a review of the sentence in cassation.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," in January 2021, it became known that the former chief accountant and head of the accounting and analytical department of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School were accused of embezzling more than 60 million rubles. Their colleagues pleaded guilty and received suspended sentences. In February 2024, the Prikubansky District Court sentenced Chief Accountant Alexey Imas to four and a half years in prison, and Head of the Accounting Department Yana Veretnova to a suspended sentence. Imas served his sentence in pretrial detention and under house arrest. However, in May, the appellate court increased Imas's sentence to five years.

The Fourth Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction upheld the sentence of former employees of the A.K. Serov Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School, convicted of embezzlement, Kommersant reported on November 24.

The defense filed a cassation appeal, insisting that there is no evidence of guilt against Alexey Imas and Yana Veretnova. However, the cassation court found no grounds for changing the verdict and upheld the lower courts' decisions.
