As "Caucasian Knot" reported, by November 14, at least 1,498 soldiers from the Volgograd region were officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

A farewell ceremony for Denis Ignatyev, born in 1984, was held in the village of Staroanninskaya, the Novoanninsky District Administration reported on its VKontakte page.

Ignatyev signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense in March 2025. "After completing training and receiving the rank of junior lieutenant, he was sent to carry out combat missions in the Northern Military District (SVO) zone. On the front lines, Denis served as a motorized rifle platoon commander. [...] Denis Nikolaevich Ignatyev's life was tragically cut short on July 13, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission," the publication states.

Thus, at least 1,499 soldiers from the Volgograd Region have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Northern Military District Statistics: Losses Are Mounting in Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Are Depriving Families of Killed Volunteers of Benefits," which describes the stories of fighters from other regions.
