Court seizes property worth 41 billion rubles from former head of Karachay-Cherkessia government

The court granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office to confiscate the property of the former Chairman of the Government of Karachay-Cherkessia Vladimir Kaishev for the benefit of the state. The value of the assets exceeded 41.9 billion rubles.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, the case of the former head of the Karachay-Cherkessia government Vladimir Kaishev, who is accused of organizing and leading a criminal community, which also included his brother, was transferred to the court in Stavropol Krai for consideration.

The court satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation on the transfer to the state of the property of the former chairman of the government of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic Vladimir Kaishev in the amount of 41.94 billion rubles; according to the supervisory agency, the property was acquired in violation of anti-corruption legislation. This was reported by TASS.

The list of seized property included shares in commercial organizations, the Pyatigorsk Dairy Plant, a racetrack, the Elizaveta-Mineralnye Vody sanatorium and other real estate objects with a total value of more than 41.9 billion rubles, RIA Novosti reports.

Vladimir Kayshev, his brother Yuri Kayshev and two defendants were charged with organizing a criminal community (Part 3 of Article 210 of the Criminal Code), theft from a gas pipeline (Part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code), fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code), extortion (3 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of office (Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code), RBC Kavkaz reported.

Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that, according to the investigation, Vladimir Kayshev, while managing large agro-industrial enterprises, together with his brother illegally acquired rights to agricultural land worth more than 2 million rubles. The sanatorium, which was under the control of Vladimir Kayshev, was illegally connected to the networks of a resource supply organization, as a result of which about 20 million cubic meters of natural gas worth more than 142 million rubles were stolen. Vladimir Kayshev and the head of the sanatorium also signed contracts with the enterprise for spa services, but failed to fulfill their obligations. As a result, the organization suffered losses of more than 27 million rubles.
