The defendants in the case of terrorist attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala refused to admit guilt

Six alleged accomplices in the attack on churches and synagogues in Dagestan in the summer of 2024 denied the charges in court.

The investigation of Kagirov's case was completed in February.

At a hearing in the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, the defendants in the case of the terrorist attacks in Makhachkala and Derbent in June 2024 refused to plead guilty, a court representative said today.

There are six living defendants in the dock. "The defendants did not admit their guilt," Interfax-Yug quotes him as saying.

There are 11 defendants in the case in total, five of them were killed. According to a court employee, the criminal case against four of the murdered was closed due to their death, and the investigation into the fifth murdered person is still ongoing.

The case of the terrorist attacks in Derbent and Makhachkala was submitted to the Southern District Military Court for consideration on May 12, Mediazona reported (they were added to the register of foreign agents by the Russian Ministry of Justice). The case file lists all 11 defendants, including the five murdered - Osman Omarov, Abdusamad Amadziev, Gadzhimurad Kagirov, Ali Zakarigaev and Dalgat Daudov.

One of the six defendants is Magomed Kagirov, who is accused of training terrorist activities, the rest are the Magomedovs with the same last name: Gadzhimurad, Zaur, Magomed, Ramazan and Khalid. The last four are accused of possessing firearms and explosives and of belonging to a terrorist organization; Gadzhimurad Magomedov, like Kagirov, is accused of training in terrorist activities.

Magomed, Khalid, and Zaur Magomedov claimed before the trial that the weapons, ammunition, and explosive device were planted on them. According to Khalid Magomedov, he was detained in late June in the Moscow region, and not in early July in Makhachkala, as stated in the case materials, Kommersant reported on December 1.

According to the case file on the court's website, the last hearing in the case took place on July 7, and the next one is scheduled for August 27.
