Sources reported searches in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ingushetia

The searches took place amid an investigation into the theft of more than 15 million rubles during preparation for the Unified State Exam. At the same time, the press service denies the fact of the searches.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote, it became known that employees of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ingushetia are suspected of a scam with the Unified State Exam. According to investigators, during the exam in 2018, they inflated the hours worked by teachers and stole about 7.5 million rubles from the budget.

Security forces conducted searches in the building of the Ministry of Education and Science in Ingushetia, a source in law enforcement agencies told TASS. The reasons for the investigative measures are not reported.

An Interfax source reported that the entrance to the building was blocked. He admitted that the searches could be connected with the case of the theft of 15.7 million rubles. in preparation for the Unified State Exam in the region.

In April, it was reported that the Magas District Court would consider a criminal case against the former director of the regional information processing center and the head of the accounting, control and reporting department of the republic's Ministry of Education and Science on charges of large-scale fraud, the regional prosecutor's office reported.

"According to the investigation, in 2018, the accused, in order to embezzle budget funds, organized the preparation of documents with false information about the work performed by 84 individuals to prepare and conduct the Unified State Exam in the republic in 2016-2018," the agency quoted the report as saying.

According to the department, in reality these people were not teachers and did not take part in conducting the exams. They  the accused produced false documents with inflated information about the amount of compensation to be paid to 140 teaching staff for the work they had done to prepare for and conduct the Unified State Exam.

As part of the criminal case, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic filed a civil claim to recover damages from the accused.

There were no searches in the building of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ingushetia, which were reported on social networks and in the media, the press service of the ministry reported.

"As far as I know, no searches were conducted, the ministry is operating as usual," a source told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, in 2022, it was reported that the Minister of Education and science of Ingushetia signed documents in 2018 on the supply of equipment for the children's technology park "Kvantorium" in the amount of about 37 million rubles, but the equipment was not delivered.
