South Ossetian authorities have announced attempts to recruit young people by foreign intelligence services

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia, foreign intelligence services are trying to recruit young people to commit crimes through social networks and instant messengers.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia reported on recorded attempts to recruit minors in the republic by foreign intelligence services, which are carried out through social networks and instant messengers, including Telegram.

According to the department, foreign intelligence services are trying to involve minors in South Ossetia in groups under the guise of participating in a patriotic movement or supporting national interests, but in fact they are persuading them to commit illegal acts. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that such a channel is a resource called "Allon Legion", the state news agency "Res" wrote on July 26, citing the press service of the department.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also stated that the "criminals" are trying to form destructive behavior in young people, enticing them with promises of quick money and prestige. They give them recommendations regarding appearance, places of crime, choice of targets and methods of carrying it out.

The department called on parents to monitor their children's activity on the Internet.

Earlier, "Kavkazsky Uzel" wrote that at the end of April in South Ossetia an employee of a state enterprise was arrested, who is accused of transmitting classified information to Georgian intelligence. The KGB has issued a warning to five more residents of the republic.
