Winners of the Golden Apricot Film Festival have been announced

The award ceremony for the winners of the XXII Golden Apricot Film Festival took place in Yerevan. The main prize was awarded to the film Fiume or Death by director Igor Bezinovich.

As "Caucasian Knot" wrote, the Grand Prix of the XXI International Film Festival Golden Apricot in 2024 was awarded to the Italian film The Gospel of Ciretta by director Caroline van der Tan. Armenian filmmakers received prizes in the short film and regional panorama nominations.

The 22nd Golden Apricot Film Festival ended in Yerevan on July 19. The film Fiume or Death, a joint production of Croatia, Italy and Slovenia, directed by Igor Bezinovic, received the festival's main prize in the International Feature Film Competition nomination. The film tells about the events in the city of Fiume in the period after the First World War, RIA Novosti writes.

The Silver Apricot went to the Georgian film Holy Electricity by Tato Kotetishvili.

In the regional competition, the Golden Apricot was awarded to Iranian Sepideh Farsi for the documentary film Take Your Soul in Your Hand and Go (a joint production of Iran, Palestine and France). The film tells the story of life in the Gaza Strip during the Israeli military campaign.

The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) Award was received by Egyptian director Morad Mostafa for his film "Aisha Cannot Fly Away".

The short film competition was won by Gor Arushanyan's "Homeland".
