Hoteliers in Anapa and Temryuk District will be partially reimbursed for amounts of returned reservations

Because of the fuel oil (mazut) spill in the Black Sea, the occupancy rate of Anapa hotels has decreased by 50% compared to the same last year’s period. Some hotels are in dire straits because they cannot return money to tourists for cancelled bookings, a source from the Association of Russian Tour Operators has stated.

The “Yandex.Travels” service will compensate 50% of the cost of refundable bookings to hotels and apartment owners who have decided to return money for accommodation to the guests whose free cancellation period has expired. The initiative is aimed at supporting the hotel business, which has found itself in a vulnerable position due to the emergency.

The programme will cover the bookings made before April 20 and for the entire beach season – from May to September 2025. Hoteliers and apartment owners will be able to receive compensation from the service even if they have already returned the cost of bookings to users of the service.

The maximum compensation amount should not exceed 20% of the total amount of bookings that were made through the service, says a report posted in the service's website.
