Maria Smelaya seeks to find her son after court ruling

An investigator promised to "bring" her son to Maria Smelaya, a resident of Kuban (Krasnodar Territory), when she receives a court ruling obliging to return her son to her. Maria intends to file an application on searching her child, whom his father had earlier taken to Chechnya.

Maria Smelaya has not yet received the ruling of the Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar, which has not yet entered into legal force. "The court ruling was to take interim measures before the next hearing and return the child to his mother; the decision should enter into legal force in two weeks. Of course, I will file a request to find the child as soon as I receive the court ruling," Maria told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, her ex-husband claims that the child is currently in Moscow, but she doesn’t believe this, assuming that her son is in the Krasnodar Territory. In her opinion, the investigator knows about the whereabouts of her child. “He said: ‘Once you get the court ruling, then I’ll bring your son to you.’ That is, the investigator promised to find and bring my son himself if we provide the ruling,” Maria Smelaya has explained.

Until the court ruling on the child’s residence, his stay with his father is not a violation, the lawyers interviewed by the “Caucasian Knot” have noted.

It was earlier revealed that Maria Smelaya’s husband has another wife. This woman, like Smelaya, filed a complaint with human rights defenders that he was beating her and their children up.
