Armenian opposition calls on its supporters to scale up disobedience actions

Opposition supporters held a march in Yerevan, calling on the townspeople to join them. Large-scale disobedience actions will lead to a pan-Armenian strike and ensure the success of the protest movement, Ishkhan Sagatelyan has stated, announcing the blocking of the metro.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding rallies, demanding not to admit any revision of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh and resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, the Premier. On May 9, the opposition offered to set up an interim government after the overthrow of Pashinyan, which would modernize the unified security system of Armenia and Karabakh, reduce the powers of the prime minister and strengthen the diplomatic corps.

At the May 15 rally, Aram Vardevanyan, an MP from the "Aiastan" parliamentary faction, stated that Armenia has judges and courts but no justice.

Arthur Khachatryan, another MP, believes that the policy of the ruling party turned out to be a failure not only in security issues, which led to territorial losses in the autumn war of 2020, but also in the economy.

Ishkhan Sagatelyan, a vice speaker of the parliament, has stated that the scale of disobedience actions should be increased in order to achieve a change of power.
