Political analysts call Kadyrov’s statement during Putin’s direct line ambitious

Political analysts suggest that Ramzan Kadyrov’s decision to write a post during the Vladimir Putin’s direct line about the Chechen authorities’ ability to serve as an example for the federal authorities in terms of accessibility to the population was an attempt to inflate his own dignity and get even more preferences from Vladimir Putin.

Perhaps, Ramzan Kadyrov believes that he has already spent enough time in his post and wants to be promoted, political analyst Dmitry Oreshkin suggests. “He may think that he should be a commander of, let’s say, the entire Northern Caucasus. Ramzan Kadyrov is constantly making attempts to extend his power to Dagestan, then to Ingushetia. He is delighted with himself and believes that he controls the situation well and puts things in order,” the political analyst believes.

Earlier in May, Ramzan Kadyrov has again made it clear that he considers it his task to work in the republic and does not want to be the president of Russia, since the country already has “the best president in the world.”

“Ramzan Kadyrov understands that he needs to bend over to President Putin, because real support comes from him. All the money comes from the federal budget,” Dmitry Oreshkin has added.

While commenting on the situation, political analyst Alexei Malashenko has said that the Kremlin is unlikely to show much attention to such statements voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov.

In 2016, Ramzan Kadyrov was elected for his third term. According to the official figures, he gained 97% of the votes. Residents of the republic stated even before the voting that the winner had been determined in advance.
