Investigators interested in threats to editor-in-chief of Ossetian edition

Investigators are checking the application of Timur Mazaev, the editor-in-chief of the "Ossetia News" about the threats he received from a son of the former head of North Ossetia. Timur's colleagues find it necessary to achieve punishment of the author of threats.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Timur Mazaev was forced to leave North Ossetia because of the threats received from a man who introduced himself as a son of Zelimkhan Bitarov, a former head of the republic. On April 14, a post appeared on the Instagram "Ossetia News" that the Mixed Martial Arts Academy "Alania MMA" had offered Bitarov and the son of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the LDPR leader, "to clear out relations in the cage."

Mazaev believes that the above post that caused threats contained no insults. "There was a situation with a scuffle of Bitarov with Zhirinovsky's son ... After that, the MMA Club of the RSO (Republic of South Ossetia) invited them to hold a fight," Timur has explained.

Ruslan Totrov, a journalist, believes that Mazaev achieve punishment of the authors of threats against him. "Every time we forgive those who dare attacking journalists when they are doing their professional duty, the authorities will turn their blind eye to it," he has explained.
