Week of March 15-21 passed without victims of armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of 15-21, 2021, no information was received about the casualties and wounded persons in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

The week of peace passed after three consecutive weeks of casualties and shootouts.

Thus, on March 8-14, in Northern Caucasus, one person perished – a suspected member of the armed underground in Dagestan. On March 11, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced near Makhachkala. An alleged militant was found in a private house; he was killed in a shootout. According to sources, in 2005, the casualty, a 56-year-old man, was sentenced to 17 years in prison under the case of murdering policemen. He had been a member of the grouping led by Rasul Makasharipov, who was killed in 2005.

On March 1-7, two persons suffered: on March 4, in Ingushetia, several people who were looking for metal with a metal detector stumbled upon an explosive device in the village of Plievo, Nazran District. One person was killed and the second received traumas at the explosion.

On February 22-28, two men were wounded: on February 25, in the village of Uchkeken, Malokarachai District of Karachay-Cherkessia, law enforcers approached a driver to check documents. He stabbed one of them, while a passenger fired a gun at a fighter of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard). On February 28, law enforcers managed to detain one of the attackers.
