"Novaya Gazeta": schoolboy from Volgograd faces a mental hospital in case on plotting an explosion

Based on a teenager's testimony and a PC desktop, the law enforcement bodies accused a Volgograd schoolboy of plotting a murder, and in the absence of real evidence, they secured that the boy had been declared insane. This was reported in a new article prepared by Ilya Azar and posted by the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June 2020, in Volgograd, the police arrested a 14-year-old schoolboy, who was making bombs at home. The teenager explained that he was going to blow up the Molotov cocktails and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) confiscated from his place in the wasteland, for entertainment. However, investigators believe that the schoolboy was plotting the murders of a school employee and one of the schoolchildren.

The schoolboy's parents argue that the charges of plotting the murder are unfounded. The teenager was homeschooled, he did not go to school and had no conflicts with his classmates and teachers. The police found drawings of explosive devices among the boy's documents, but the teenager's papers contained neither school plans, nor any sign indicating the preparation of a terror act. In the criminal case, a picture from a desktop on the teenager's PC, depicting "Kerch shooter" Vlad Roslyakov, plays the role of the evidence.

According to the teenager's parents, the boy was interested in stories of people like Vlad Roslyakov, but they were not his idols.

Since June 2020, the law enforcement bodies have been keeping the boy under arrest in order to force him to confess to the crime, the teenager's parents say. "There is no evidence of guilt, but he has been denigrated throughout the whole Russia, and they <law enforcers> cannot admit that they were wrong," the mother of the teenager said.

The woman reported that in Moscow, the boy was being kept in the "Cat's House", a mental hospital at the "Butyrka" prison. The teenager was given medicines that made him feel bad. The Yaroslav's personal file has already included the information that he is declared insane.
