Over last 24 hours, 111 refugees return to Nagorno-Karabakh

Other 111 refugees have arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia accompanied by peacemakers, making, by the evening of February 2, the total number of returnees in excess of 52,000, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by the evening of February 1, the total number of residents who returned to Nagorno-Karabakh reached 51,947; 96 of them returned to the region over the past 24 hours.

Now, during the last 24 hours, 111 refugees returned from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian MoD reported on its website on February 2.

Since November 14, 2020, a total of 52,058 people have returned to the region; they had left their homes because of the hostilities in the conflict zone, the MoD has added.

Over the last 24 hours, in Nagorno-Karabakh, sappers have cleared from explosive objects 34 hectares of land, two kilometres of roads, and 11 housing buildings; 14 units of ammunition were removed for destruction. In total, since November 23, 2020, 893.3 hectares of territory, 247.8 kilometres of roads and 973 buildings have been demined, of the latter, 27 are socially significant buildings. During this time, a total of 23,950 explosive objects were discovered and neutralized, militaries have reported.
