"Novaya Gazeta" reports death of those detained after October CTO in Grozny

The bodies of the owner of the house, in which alleged militants were killed on October 13, 2020, in Grozny, his pregnant wife and brother, were handed over to their relatives about a month after their detention, the "Novaya Gazeta" writes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 13, 2020, in the Oktiabrsky District of Grozny, law enforcers blocked a house, in which, according to their information, alleged militants were hiding. In the shootout, four alleged militants were killed, two servicemen of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) perished, and one law enforcer was wounded. After the counterterrorist operation (CTO), the owner of the house and his two wives, one of whom was pregnant, were detained, a local resident reported.

The bodies of Islam Isakhanov, the owner of the house, in which the CTO was conducted, of his pregnant wife and his older brother Ibragim, were given out to relatives in early November 2020, and Isakhanov's second wife, an orphan from Dagestan, is still kept at the police station, says the article "Mukhammad, Aisha and Chechen Police ", posted on December 5 on the website of the "Novaya Gazeta".

The newspaper learned about the fate of those detained after the CTO in Grozny from a source in the Chechen Branch of the Russian FSB. According to the official version, Islam Isakhanov, his first wife and brother perished in a road accident on a new highway running through the Tersk Ridge. According to the above FSB Branch, the car was found shelled. However, as noted by Elena Milashina, the author of the article, the official reports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) fail to mention either the incident with the car shelling or the road accident with the death of three persons.
