Five Anzorov's acquaintances escape criminal prosecution in France

French law enforcers have released five persons detained under the murder case of teacher Samuel Paty, without charging them.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 7, French law enforcers detained five Chechens from among Abdulak Anzorov's acquaintances. These are young people from 18 to 21 years old.

On October 16, Samuel Paty, a teacher of history and geography, was beheaded in France. Before his murder, at a lesson on freedom of speech, the teacher showed his students caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad from the French weekly Charlie Hebdo. The killer was identified as 18-year-old Abdullakh (Abdulla) Anzorov, a Russian citizen of Chechen origin, who had been granted refugee status in France.

In the evening on December 10, all five persons detained on December 7 were released without charging, the French AFP News Agency has reported. "Investigators failed to reveal their involvement in Paty's murder," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has translated the comment of law enforcement source presented in the Agency's publication.

Earlier, 14 persons became figurants of the murder case of Samuel Paty, including Islamic activists, whom investigators treated as instigators, the schoolchildren who pointed to Anzorov to Samuel Paty for money, and two of Anzorov's friends, the edition "l'Obs" has reported.

According to investigators, at least three friends helped Abdulak Anzorov. Two surrendered themselves to the police, including a 19-year-old boy who accompanied Anzorov to Rouen to buy the knife that was found near the crime scene. The other of the two, aged 18, helped to buy a knife and two pistols, the French newspaper "Le Monde" reported on October 21.
