Acquittal of Anzorov in report by "Grozny" ChGTRK reveals Kadyrov's inconsistency

Kadyrov disowned Anzorov after the latter had murdered the French teacher, but then allowed to bury him into the family cemetery in Chechnya, trying to please the moods of some Muslims, the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the TV report prepared and broadcasted by the "Grozny" state-run TV Company, relatives of Abdullah Anzorov, who was shot and killed by the police in France after murdering teacher Samuel Paty, said that Anzorov was a God-fearing young man and was forced to react to the discussion of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

In the opinion of Ali Magomadov, a political analyst, the report about Anzorov's funeral in the village of Shalazhi by journalists of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) was made at the suggestion, if not of Ramzan Kadyrov himself, then by order of someone from his internal retinue.

"The report was designed in such a way as to focus the viewers' attention on the fact that the guy had been provoked to the crime by the publication of caricatures in the 'Charlie Hebdo' magazine. The Chechen leadership is closely monitoring the moods of the overwhelming majority of Muslims; and Kadyrov has to tune himself to their moods," Mr Magomadov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on December 8.

Ali Magomadov has recalled that at the very beginning, immediately after the crime was committed, Kadyrov tried to disown Anzorov, saying that the latter "was born in Moscow, grew up and was brought up in France," thus trying to show that it was in France that Anzorov took the path of radical Islam, and Chechnya had nothing to do with it.

Moreover, his statement immediately after the crime was that he is categorically against terrorism in any form. Logically, one could have assumed that he would not allow the body of Anzorov, who, according to his version, committed a terror act, would be buried into the family cemetery in the village of Shalazhi. However, taking into account the moods of the overwhelming majority of Chechens, he had to deviate from his rule," Mr Magomadov has concluded.
