Five persons named as victims of law enforcers' shootout in Achkhoi-Martan

As a result of the shootout in the Chechen village of Achkhoi-Martan, five men were wounded; two of them later died in hospital, investigators have reported. The SOBR (rapid deployment special police detachment) fighters who took part in the shootout were called by the café staff to calm down the OMON (riot police) fighters who were rowing there, the "Baza" Telegram Channel has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 27, during a shootout among SOBR and OMON fighter near a café in Achkhoi-Martan, a "Rosgvardia (Russian National Guard) employee and one civilian were killed.

The incident happened at night. According to investigators, on October 27, at three o'clock in the morning, five local residents with gunshot wounds were delivered to the Achkhoi-Martan central district hospital, two of whom later died. According to preliminary information, in the village of Achkhoi-Martan, a quarrel broke out among local residents, which escalated into a fight with the use of firearms.

The quarrel began with a verbal skirmish after two drunk OMON fighters broke into the café and began raging, the "Baza" Telegram Channel reports the details of the incident, without specifying the sources of information. According to its data, the manager of the café took the men out into the street and after a failed attempt to calm them down, he called his friend from the "Rosgvardia" and asked for help with the unwanted guests.

"Soon, three SOBR fighters arrived at the venue […]. Word for word, and the dialogue turned into stabbing, and then into shooting," the channel writes.

The shootout was started by OMON fighters; and one of the wounded persons – a SOBR fighter – is in the intensive care unit in grave condition; while the civilian who died in hospital was the guard of the nearby school, 1Adat Telegram Channel writes, also without specifying the source of its information.

So far, the "Caucasian Knot" has no confirmation and cannot verify the information posted by the "Baza" and 1Adat Telegram Channels.
