In Southern Russia, 21 children handed over to their relatives after return from Syria

21 children returned from Syria have been handed over to their relatives in Dagestan, Chechnya, and the Volgograd Region, reports Anna Kuznetsova, Children's Rights Commissioner under the President of Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 16, 27 children, aged from 2 to 13, born in the southern regions of Russia, were brought from Syria to Moscow.

Relatives were allowed to take home the children who arrived in Moscow from Syria on October 16. All the children underwent medical examinations: no serious diseases were detected, and tests for COVID-19 were negative.

"I believe the love and care of their relatives will help the children to cope with everything. Families will definitely be provided with opportunities of rehabilitation," said the Children's Rights Commissioner as quoted on her official website.

Anna Kuznetsova has also reported that DNA tests are taken from other 27 children, who were born in the Russian Federation, but still stay at the Al-Hawl refugee camp, and that the documents are fully prepared to return from Syria more than 90 children.
