Travel restrictions imposed in Nagorno-Karabakh

Due to the introduced martial law, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh have prohibited their citizens from leaving the unrecognized republic and moving around it without documents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 27, when full-scale hostilities began in Nagorno-Karabakh, President Araik Arutyunyan announced the introduction of the martial law and announced military training of the reserve personnel.

In connection with the martial law, certain restrictions on free movement have been introduced for citizens, Uunan Tadevosyan, a source from press service of the Emergency Authority of Nagorno-Karabakh, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"When in the streets and in other public places during the martial law, every citizen must have an ID on him/her, which, if necessary, must be presented to the patrols carrying out round-the-clock service throughout the country," Mr Tadevosyan has cited the Commandant's decision. He urged people to move only "in case of emergency."

Besides, exit from Nagorno-Karabakh is restricted for the citizens subject to a mobilization call. It is allowed only in special cases with a pass issued by the Commandant, the "Armenianreport" informs.
